Description
Portrait bust of young woman resting on a squared base. Base painted black, bust metallic gold.
Accrual Method
Collection was gifted to the Danforth in 2006. Unfortunately they sat uncatalogued for close to 10 years. It took until an IMLS grant awarded in 2015 through 2016 for this collection to be catalogued and put into the collections database. - Rachel 2021 Came to us from Pat West. From photographs in Eph1.39 photo book this is either a bust of a woman named Alberta or Doris. Photos have become loose from pages so unclear which bust belongs to which woman. Doris confirmed from family photo negatives loaned to the Danforth in 2021.
Provenance
Gift of the Meta V. W. Fuller Trust Part of the Estate of Meta V. W. Fuller from 1968-2001. In the collection of the Meta V. W. Fuller Trust, 2001-2006
Condition
Good: Face is intact except for accretion of plaster on subject's upper lip right eye lid and chin; some flaking on top and back of head and back and left of bust; bass has numerous chips on bottom, especially back; apparent unpainted patch of hair line on back left of bust.
