Nancy and Janina Swiacki are alumnae and donors to Framingham State University. Janina (Early Childhood Education, Class of 1967) and Nancy (English, Class of 1968) are the namesake of the Swiacki Children’s Literature Festival. Renamed in their honor in 2014, The Swiacki Children’s Literature Festival has been an annual event at FSU since 1986. Janina was an elementary education major who graduated in the class of 1967. Nancy was an English major and part of the class of 1968. Nancy was in the first co-ed graduating class at Framingham State. Since becoming donors for the Festival, they work closely with FSU faculty and staff in the Festival’s committee. The Nancy and Janina Swiacki Collection includes several garments worn by them during their careers and their late mother’s wedding gown.
