Christa McAuliffe (right) and Barbara Morgan (left) watch the launch of the Challenger shuttle for mission STS-61A. Morgan was the back-up for the Teacher In Space payload specialist position.Johnson Space Center's caption: Barbara R. Morgan and Sharon Christa McAuliffe (right) are pictured during a visit to NASA's Kennedy Space Center (KSC) Launch Complex 39 to witness the launch of the space shuttle Challenger. McAuliffe is scheduled to launch aboard the space shuttle Challenger, STS-51L mission, herself early next year as the United States' first in-space citizen observer.
