Accessibility
An intrical part in developing this project is making sure our users can navigate the website with the utmost ease from an accessibility standpoint. Our main objectives is to ensure that the site includes closed captioning, appropriate font colors and sizes for text, correct use of headers for organizational structure, proper alt text for images, making the website easily accessible via a keyboard and finally any links used on the website have creative and descriptive names. We also strongly feel that it is important to have language and or translation options for our users who speak other languages such as Spanish. We have a strong Latin community here at FSU and we feel like it makes sense to provide a way for members of said community to consume the content in ways that make it more accessible to them. Finally for this project we aim to adhere to OMEKA S’s accessibility statement to make sure that our users can operate the website and consume the content in the most accessible way possible.
