History of Basketball at Massart

This basketball was signed by the team after The first recorded win against RISD was December 9, 2023.

Used to practice in the DMC when they had the basketball court with the Easelmen logo on it.

- The jersey that is purple and orange is the first iteration of the jersey worn by the team

60 - 61, 61 - 62 seasons

Henry Novak (BFA '15 Art Ed) is assumed to have created the first unofficial (what we know now as Marty) Mastodon Mascot Costume. He at least wore it. It was worn to a "home" game at Emmanuel in 2012.

Originally named the MassArt Masstodons, the team started circa 2008 when a RISD staff member called asking if the basketball team (The Easelmen) was still around and if they wanted to go against RISD. Sam Morton (BFA Painting '10) was the one to answer the phone and said
they had a team.
