Description

Standing man holding lamb with head titled, wearing robe and with beard and ear length hair. Lamb is right facing. Figure is barefoot. Head is broken off at shoulder. Man's hair is brown and robe is a mixture of brown and tan.

Collection was gifted to the Danforth in 2006. Unfortunately they sat uncatalogued for close to 10 years. It took until an IMLS grant awarded in 2015 through 2016 for this collection to be catalogued and put into the collections database. - Rachel 2021 Came to us from Robert Fuller

Fair: Piece is in two sections. Head is broken off cleanly at shoulders. Large section broken off and missing from left facing base/pedestal. Head piece-chips on bottom of beard; abrasions around edge of hair and into hair; chip left facing edge at break. Body piece (Glue/darkening?) around break area. Abrasions on wrist and arm grasping lamb. Dots/abrasions on left facing cloak and right facing edge of cloak and center of main robe. Abrasions on back of upper arm right facing side of cloak. Abrasions on lamb's face and around perimeter of base.
